Our History
Turning Point Media Relations, Inc. opened its doors in 1995 in the former RCA Records building on Nashville’s historic Music Row. The company’s initial mission—to provide full service public relations services to a focused roster of recording artists and authors who we respect, believe in, and are passionate about—has remained the same to this day.
Turning Point has been privileged to represent a diverse lineup of many of Christian music’s leading artists, including Natalie Grant, Michael W. Smith, Jason Crabb, NewSong, Kirk Franklin, Selah, Matthew West, and Rebecca St. James. We have helped introduce such debut artists as Guy Penrod, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Russ Lee, Bethany Dillon, Robbie Seay Band, Shawn McDonald, Carlos Whittaker, Don Poythress, and Nicol Sponberg.
We have been proud to serve artists from nearly every style of Christian music, from urban (Trinitee 5:7, Norman Hutchins) to country (Charlie Daniels, Randy Travis) to worship (Lincoln Brewster, Twila Paris, Paul Baloche) to family entertainment (Go Fish) to pioneers of the format (Bill & Gloria Gaither, Sandi Patty, Whiteheart).
Through the years Turning Point has also partnered with a long list of independent artists who have helped lay the groundwork for the now-thriving independent Christian music scene. These artists have included Matt Brouwer, Tammy Trent, According to John, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra, Michael Gungor Band, Ronnie Freeman, Joel Hanson and Joy Lippard, among many others.
From the beginning, Turning Point has also desired to support significant voices in Christian literature. From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Donna VanLiere, to trend-setting children’s author Karyn Henley, to fiction authors James Rubart, Sigmund Brouwer, and Chris Coppernoll, to women’s authors Lisa Harper and Angie Smith, to titles from award-winning musicians Charlie Peacock, Matthew Ward and Matt and Beth Redman, we have creatively promoted fiction, non-fiction and devotional titles alike.
In addition, Turning Point has been privileged to represent the internationally acclaimed dance ensemble Ballet Magnificat!; the Bibleman video series starring Willie Aames; and the recent documentary films “Yellow Roses – Real Girls. Real Life. Real Hope” and “Still Standing – The Stonewall Jackson Story."
